- (1881 -1913)Ukrainian Hebrew author. He was born in Starodub, but lived an unsettled life, wandering from city to city and often enduring hardship. He published poems, literary criticism, stories, translations and sketches. He was among the first Hebrew writers to explore the alien-ation and uprootedness of Jews in modern society.
